Mele Kalikimaka!

The Food Pantry was open as usual on Christmas Eve Day.  Everyone was in good spirits, happy to be making the holidays merry for our friends and neighbors in need. This week we were especially grateful for a large contribution of produce from One Song Farm.  We gave away over 70 lbs of organic kale, chard, and taro.  In addition, we offered most of our usual food and contributions from neighbors with extra fruit.  It is the season for citrus and we had a variety donated. If you find you have more fruit than you can use, please consider contributing it to the food pantry.  Just bring to the pantry between 12:30 and 1:30 Fridays or 2 and 3 pm any Saturday. We also had presents for the keiki which were happily received.

The Kauai North Shore Food Pantry wishes everyone a very merry holiday season from our ohana to yours!

Good News! We have leased a van…

We have leased a used van to carry our hundreds of pounds of food items from the Lihue area Food Banks to our Parish Hall every Friday. We had been borrowing the vehicles of friends and parishioners, but because of the wear and tear on others’ trucks, this was not a sustainable solution to our transportation needs. Mahalo nui to all of the individuals and granting organizations for your generous support. Your caring has enabled the Food Pantry to open and keep going, as well as making possible our new van for transport. You have been instrumental in our continuing endeavor to feed our hungry neighbors.
