2017 Is Off To A Great Start!

Kauai North Shore Food Pantry is starting 2017 with added services.  We have increased the Drugstore days to the first and third Saturday of every month.  On these days we offer personal care items such as toothpaste, toilet paper, diapers, and shampoo and on occasion have things like socks.  As always, the items available depend on donations and vary week to week.

We also increased the days we offer pet food. We understand that when our neighbors are hungry, their pets are also likely to be hungry.  So, every second and fourth Saturday we offer bags of dry dog or cat food.

In the recent weeks we have had generous donations from neighbors of citrus including tangerines, grapefruit, oranges, tangelos and kumquats. This past Saturday we were able to offer huge heads of organic romaine lettuce from Moloaa Organica. Mahalo Nui to Joe for that!

As always, from our Ohana to yours, wishing you health and happiness.

Happy New Year!

The Food Pantry was open New Year’s Eve Day.  Everyone was in good spirits and there was ample food.

Last month (December), the North Shore Food Pantry gave away 8,201 pounds of dry, canned and refrigerated food plus 639 pounds of donated produce.  The 336 volunteer hours helped get this food to 636 friends and neighbors in need. What a great way to end 2016!

We are looking forward to a bigger and better 2017.  The Food Pantry will now have it’s Drugstore Day every 1st and 3rd Saturday and will offer dog and cat food every 2nd and 4th Saturday. Our drugstore provides personal care items such as shampoo, toothpaste, sunscreen, and toilet paper. Of course, as always, items offered vary week to week depending on availability.

Our ohana at the Food Pantry wishes everyone a Happy and Healthy 2017!
